Hannah Beckham

Hey, all! This month, I took Time Out with one of Changeling's newest authors, Hannah Beckham. Hannah has a fantastic debut series, Send 'Em Packing, featuring one of the sexiest, most kick-ass heroines I've read recently. Maya Eddings is the kind of woman I love to read about, and the two fellas vying for her attention just make Hannah's stories all the yummier, *BG*

ERG: Howdy, Hannah! I know you're busy with the third installment your series, so I'm going to jump right in with my question. Most authors have been asked why we decided to be writers. Instead of why, I'd like to know when you wrote what you consider to be your first complete story? What was it about?

HB: My first story that I wrote was when I was in eighth grade, so about 14, and it was about nuclear war and how life is fleeting in the midst of world war. It wasn't very long and it sort of ended with a big bang, lol. Whadda ya want?? LOL. I'm a product of the 80's, WoMD, and the Iron Curtain. What can I say? LOL.I was a depressing child. Before that I wrote poetry, just as depressing. :) Thank God I grew out of those stages. Now I'm just nuts.

ERG: A lot of writers have the 'drawer story' - the manuscript you've been working on forever. The one you pull out over and over to tweak, edit, and rewrite ad nauseum. The one you pour everything into and yet are never quite satisfied with. What's your 'drawer story'?

HB: Are you trying to make me feel guilty? I have so many drawer stories it's pathetic. My poor characters are all talking about mutiny and revolution.

ERG: Coffee is very popular among the writing crowd. If you drink it, how do you take it?

HB: Hot and black! Sometimes I like to add some milk and chai spice, but mostly, hot and black.

ERG: Hmm, chai spice? I'll have to try that! So, when you aren't writing, or doing something associated with your work, what do you do for total, brainless relaxation, LOL?

HB: Oh, so you want people to know just how brainless I am. LOL. I watch TV when I want to completely shut down, or I read fact books. You think a fact book would require brain work, but it doesn't, lol. Frankly, I can't even remember any of the facts from the fact books I've read.

ERG: Action or romantic comedy?

HB: Yes. LOL. I like a combination of the two. Lots of action with a bit of romance. If a light saber or two is involved, more the better.

ERG: LOL, Hannah, I think you've just described your work. I love the bits of mystery, mayhem, humor, and good old-fashioned romance you imbue in all your stories. Do you listen to music while your write erotic scenes? Emotional scenes? Fight scenes?

HB: None. I have to have total quiet when I'm writing. Otherwise, I get distracted. Nothing worse than trying to write a scene and you look down at the work only to see that you've typed the last line of the lyric you were singing to.

ERG: ROFLMAO! I've actually done that a time or two. But this is a really cool thing to point out. New authors often ask me what I do to get into the writing groove. I enjoy writing to music. However, if you are easily distracted, turning off the tunes or the tube might help focus the writing energy.

Since we're in an advice-giving vein here, LOL, can you give me a piece of sage advice? It doesn't have to be writing related, just something you find yourself following often.

HB: Never be with a man who has more problems than you do. You'll never have time for your own.

ERG: That's awesome, LOL! Great advice there, Hannah.

All right, that's all my questions. So here's where you get to plug a book and you better give us a hot tidbit to relish too, LMAO!

HB: Oh, goody! lol. Well, here goes:

Packing for Three by Hannah Beckham
Coming in September to Changeling Press

Blurb:

When Matt Brewer, Maya Eddings' werewolf lover, calls her from his hometown in the Ozarks, Maya is fit to be tied. He's in trouble. His were-chick girlfriend Jenny has disappeared, and the clan suspects foul play. And Jenny's den is blaming Matt.

Maya would love to tell Matt to kiss off, but the stakes are too high. His life could be forfeit if the situation isn't resolved. So, she packs her bags and her 9 mm for a road trip, her other lover, Stephen Daniels, riding shotgun. Probably, not the best idea, since Stephen's incubic genes seem to have a really strange reaction on Lycans.

Between Matt's family, Jenny's disappearance, and Stephen's unusual talent for inciting a sexual riot, Maya has gotten into more trouble than she can shoot her way out of.

Excerpt:

Even with the injuries she couldn't help but think she was the luckiest girl in the world. "This is not a one woman show. Off with the clothes," she ordered them. Surprisingly, Matt was the first one to strip. He slid in next to her on the right, then Stephen, torturously slow, took off his apron and his boxers and slid in on the left.

"My my," she said to both of them as her hands caressed their already hard cocks. "What big dicks you have."

Matt chuckled. "Are we really going to do the X-rated version of Little Red Riding Hood?"

"I'm just telling it like I see it." She smiled. Her lips met Matt's in a gentle kiss as she turned toward him. Stephen pressed his body against her back, his cock nudging her buttocks.

Matt's blue-eyes brimmed with wolfish amber. "You're blood smells good." He closed his eyes, afraid to look at her. "Does that freak you out?"

"Only if you plan to eat me."

He opened his eyes. "Oh, I plan to eat you."

Stephen undid her bra then slipped his hand under her wounded arm and slid around her front to cup her breast. "Me too." He pulled Maya onto of him, as Matt kissed his way down her belly, his fingers toiling with the hair of her mound before he tugged her panties down and his tongue slipped between the wet fold of her pussy. "Oh, shit."

Stephen's cock pressed against the crack of her ass while he rolled her nipples with his fingertips and sucked in the flesh of back of her neck. Matt slipped a finger into her as his lips, tongue, and teeth worked her clit. Her whole body ached with arousal and desire. "Feels so good," she whispered, snuggling her body back into Stephen's while pushing her pelvis to meet Matt's mouth.

Reaching down, she grabbed a handful of thick black hair, pulling Matt's face tighter to her pussy, his mouth sucking her clit like she'd sucked his cock so many times. Stroking her sex with this mouth until she cried out. "Oh fuck, I'm going to come."
