![]() | A look inside the first Changeling Press releases By J.G.
If you're new to Changeling Press, here's a glimpse of the early days of CP's infancy. If you haven't read these early titles, check them out! If you've been a loyal reader with us since the beginning - thank you!! Maybe this article will remind you of some of your early favorites and send you back for some re-reads. |
The first five releases from Changeling Press in the spring of 2004 showcased the talents of several great authors. Shelby Morgan's Kiss in the Dark kicked us off, and showed early Changeling's dedication to short sizzling tales. Inspired by the Purity Test (Google it if you don't recognize it - or better yet, read Kiss in the Dark and its sequel!), Shelby took us on a ride into the forbidden.
Changeling's sophomore release is one that just may be familiar to knowledgeable readers… Kate Douglas's Wolf Tales: Stephen was her debut for Changeling. Kate pushed the limits in shapeshifter erotica in Stephen and introduced readers to characters who spawned four more tales before Kate sold her best-selling Wolf Tales series to Kensington. Quite the accomplishment for Kate and Changeling! The Wolf Tales are no longer available from Changeling, but Kate's still around. Check out her titles in the Agency of Extraordinary Mates series and more!
Third out of the gate was Marilyn Lee's Daughters of Takira: One Night in Vegas. By now, readers should have realized Changeling looooves series. We don't want to give up our characters any more than you do. And in fact Marilyn's series is a generational vampire drama that just won't quit. Good thing fans love this series as much as she does - they both keep coming back for more. All three of the Daughters of Takira novellas are still available as a collection from Changeling. Some of the later novels in the series (Moonlight Madness) are available in print.
Room to Play by Lena Austin was written as a stand-alone novella, and it remained that way for four years. But if you missed the recent sequel, Room to Move, what are you waiting for?! Four years later, the sex is just as hot, and Changeling's First Family of Ménage is still going strong… in more ways than one. Lena went on to pen the award-winning Unicorn Valley series and still writes regularly for Changeling.
Rounding out the first five releases is the BDSM title Undercovers. Ruth D. Kerce tackled handcuffs and stalkers in her first novella for Changeling Press. Sexy cops and strong women define this hot four-book series, now available as a collection and in print! Ruth's most recent contribution to Changeling was a short story for the Snowbounds last winter.
So there you have it: the first five Changeling Press releases introduced a publishing company, several best-selling erotica series, and five of your favorite authors, who you can still find writing here - for your pleasure (and, we hope, theirs!).
