He had always been the most beautiful man May had ever known. It wasn't mere physical appeal, for he didn't possess conventional good looks. Still, with his soulful blue eyes and bone structure like cut glass, he stood out among even the most handsome men.
Blair Black's gentleness, his compassion, and his hard won understanding of love and loss made him beautiful in a way so many other men were not.
His love had saved May, though he always said hers had saved him. In truth they had rescued each other, which was part of the reason that one hundred and twenty-five years later, their bond remained strong.
Wearing only her unbelted robe, May paused halfway across their room in the private New York club called Burgundy Peak. They had come to visit Blair's blood grandfather, Master Zigor, as well as celebrate the anniversary of their first meeting.
Gazing at her husband who sprawled naked on the bed, May thought how different he looked from the depressed, self-destructive soul he had been when they'd first met. Back then, his lanky body had been half-starved for both food and blood. Now, though slim due to his natural structure and vigorous lifestyle, he had the look of an athlete at the peak of health. Well-cut muscle shaped his broad shoulders and arms. A lean chest, dusted with honey-colored hair tapered to a chiseled abdomen and narrow hips. His long legs were sleekly-muscled, his thighs powerful but not bulky. His wakening cock stirred within a bed of ginger curls the same color as his neatly trimmed goatee.
May glanced down to his long feet and then back up his pleasing body to his face. His huge blue eyes smoldered, making her tingle all over. It amazed her that after so many years he still aroused her with a mere look.
"You're beautiful," he said and beckoned her with a flick of his finger. "Drop your robe and come here."
Happy to oblige, May shrugged off the robe and tossed it onto a nearby chair. Naked, she climbed onto the bed and knelt by his feet. She playfully tickled the arch of one. He jerked slightly and smiled.
Moaning softly, she kissed her way up his legs, running her hands over hair-roughened skin and squeezing rock-hard muscles. She closed her eyes and rubbed her cheek against his inner thigh while curling her fist around his cock.
"Seductress," he said in a husky whisper while caressing her hair. "You always were irresistible, May."
"I'm glad you still think so."
He grasped her arms and tugged her on top of him. The sparse hairs on his hard chest teased her sensitive flesh. Their gazes locked and she lost herself in the depths of his eyes.
"Always," he said and kissed her.
His firm lips were both gentle and possessive. May loved the way he tasted and felt. She adored his scent and the comfort of knowing he loved her as much as she loved him.
She trusted this man with her very soul. Countless times over the past century they had risked their lives for each other, depended on each other and fought back to back against enemies determined to destroy them.
She and Blair were soulmates, husband and wife, partners against evil.
Tonight they were lovers and May intended to enjoy every moment.
